While You Were Out: Dodgers Sweep Cubs, Advance to NLCS

The Dodgers brought their NL Division series to a close with a 3-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs last night here at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers swept the three-game series, keeping the Cubs a full 100 years since their last World Series win and another year away from the chance. For the Dodgers it's the first post-season series win in 20 years, and an exciting wrap-up to their first year under the direction of Joe Torre. Now the Dodgers will face either Philadelphia or Milwaukee in a best-of-seven series that will start on Thursday. Could this be the year Big Blue goes all the way?

Nice coverage, Ms. William-Ross! My uneducated guess is that Mr. Bramlett is still too hungover to type, having raised the celebratory wrist a few times last night.
Congrats to him, the Dodgers, and all of Los Angeles.
Now let's all drink some water and get our asses in gear for the next round, 'cause this season has, as Joe Torre said, eight more wins left.
Go Blue!
