PARTY WITH THE DINOSAURS
Day two of the Tarfest takes place at the La Brea Tar Pits and the Miracle Mile. Today is the film and music festival portion of this artsy affair. Music videos and short films will be shown at the Korean Cultural Center for free at 1 p.m., while you can listen to some great bands, including a DJ set by artist Shepard Fairey, over at the El Rey Theatre at 7p.m.

RE-VISIT BURNING MAN
The annual L.A. Burning Man Decompression Street Festival is going on from noon to midnight today with a plethora of art, music, and crazy extras like a wedding chapel to live out your strangest romantic fantasies. With a new location this year, they are looking forward to a huge celebration. $10 entry with costume and/or Metro pass, $20 with out. Like everyone else, the festival has gone even greener: no glow sticks!

SHOW OFF YOUR BEER PONG SKILLS
Didn't think they'd come in handy? Well you are in luck, you can tell your mom you weren't wasting your time in college. The Terrace is throwing their own, OctoBeer Fest, hosted by The Noise Academy. You can go for a drink, to dance, to watch some live video streams, or join their main event, the beer pong tournament. If you are lucky enough to win, you get a beer pong table, of course!

SUPPORT THE LITTLE GUYS
If Detour is too trendy for you, there's always the Eagle Rock Music Festival. In it's 10th year, the festival is still free and very community-oriented. Over forty bands from around town, like The Parson Redheads, are on the lineup. This is all brought to you by Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock. Although the festival is free, it wouldn't hurt to give these guys a donation for all their hard work and dedication!

TAKE A CLASS ON WINE
FraƮche Restaurant, proud home of the "Best New Wine List" in Culver City will begin their monthly class on all things wine, led by co-owner Thierry Perez and many other wine connoisseurs. Every first Saturday, you will learn about a new aspect of the wine culture. Today's class is on Varietals and Cheeses of Burgundy. This is more than just a wine tasting class, so be prepared to be an expert on the wine culture after a couple of these classes.

Other Things To Do...
Head out to Ventura for their annual Harvest Festival for your first taste of fall family fun, take a free massage therapy class at the Institute of Professional Practical Therapy, spend lots of money ($500-$2500 to be exact) on the Obama campaign at a Hillary Clinton-hosted fundraiser at the Edison downtown, or check out one of the several art openings tonight including Tokyo Nonsense at Scion Space, Raw Skies at the Carmichael Gallery, or Daniel DeSure's, Wouldn't It Be Nice, at Found Gallery.
