Hey Ginny!

Well I dunno, maybe they're just more aggressive on my block. I swear though, I've been working right here, (7th between Olive abd Grand), at the same business for 18 years, and I've never seen a car sit after 3pm for more than 5-10 minutes. Maybe they've just pegged this block as good feeding grounds.

BTW, are you still on the Neighborhood Council?

If so I just want to thank you for the free Friday night movies at Pershing Sq. It's a great, and inexpensive way to spend a Friday night and meet neighbors.

Why Los Feliz east of Western on this list is a mystery to me. West bound traffic snarls every morning, thanks to the idiots who can't read the signs that regulate parking. And why these fools aren't towed speaks to the general incompetence of traffic enforcement.

They need to target LaBrea south of the 10. There always seems to be somebody parked there and it just causes traffic as people cannot react in time.

I half expected Wilshire Boulevard to show up on this list.

And, I have to disagree with JRB. Just yesterday there was a car parked by 7th/Fig for over a half an hour at 4:30 p.m. The driver left her car while she crossed the street to go to Starbucks. I wish Los Angeles had a more aggressive tow policy - why waste time with tickets when you can quickly tow.

Honolulu has a far more aggressive tow policy. Come 3:50 p.m. it feels like all of the tow trucks descend on the downtown area to begin plucking cars at 4 p.m. sharp.

The question is this: are the no parking signs used for revenue generation or for easing congestion?

The parking patrol is pretty aggressive in all of downtown. The block where I work, 7th between Olive and Grand, they start towing at 3pm. I've seen vehicles towed within 5 minutes of parking after 3pm. I've only seen one person blubber her way of of getting towed. She was driving a Lexus SUV and looked like a rich person's trophy wife.
