For their fifth installation of the notorious Tiger Team who patrol, ticket and tow illegally parked vehicles along high traffic corridors during morning and afternoon rush hour, today they released the team across the city. And instead of patrolling one sprawling thoroughfare like they've done in the past (example, 4.2 miles of Sunset Blvd. from Vermont Ave. to Laurel Canyon Blvd.), Tiger Team V will hit 25 of the city's "Hotspots" (most frequently parking violated areas) throughout the City including Pico Boulevard, Westwood Boulevard, Victory Boulevard, De Soto Avenue, Figueroa Boulevard, Hoover Street, La Brea Avenue, Broadway Street and Hill Street. So hopefully those cars in illegally parked or stopped in parking lanes won't be blocking your commute anymore.

So when will the Cougar Team be deployed?
They need people on Nordhoff, right next to the CSUN campus. Supposedly it's a tow-away zone due to anti-gridlock measures from 4pm to 7pm. I take night classes and there are always cars parked there well after 6pm. Sometimes they have tickets, sometimes not. People will start to not believe the signs if they don't face consequences. And it really DOES slow down traffic to have to merge back into the center lane when you think the left lane will be free and clear. I've seen the same issue on Wilton (between Melrose and Sunset), and even on Ventura in Sherman Oaks in the am.
LaBrea is covered already. I forgot and left my car parked outside Best Buy once past 4pm and it was towed so fast. Of course, not only did I have to pay over $100 to get it out of impound (less than an hour after it was towed), but the City of West Hollywood slapped a $40 ticket on there. No wonder WeHo seems to have so much money.
Yeah those guys are no joke. I accidentally left my car on Wilshire in Koreatown past 7am one weekday morning about a year ago, and had to pay the Viertel's towing company $184, and then pay the city of Los Angeles its ticket fee (I feel like it was an $80 ticket, but can't remember--where's the good ol' LA City Nerd when you need him/her??). And I was pretty broke at the time too.. :(
Another reason why we should all ride razor scooters to work. Anyone? Anyone?
