Under the Radar's Protest Sign Auction

Under-the-Radar-Protest-Issue.jpg

Tomorrow music magazine Under the Radar will auction off handmade protest posters by some of indie music's biggest names. In the photos from the project, the musicians, hold their posters to shout there message loud and proud. Brit Daniel from Spoon show off his his 'VIVA LA RAZA' poster, Sharon Jones pleads "END THIS WAR NOW', and OK GO warns 'THEY BANK ON YOUR APATHY' .

The idea originated four years ago in Under the Radar's Protest Issue. While trying to come up with a unique visual element, the idea to photograph the artists with a protest sign of their own making was born. The signs were then autographed and auctioned off to raise money for Music for America.

This time signs by Death Cab for Cutie, Jarvis Cocker, Rilo Kiley, Stars, The Decemberists, Fleet Foxes, Spoon, Sharon Jones, OK GO and more will be sold to benefit War Child International.

The War Child International mission:

War Child International is a network of independent organizations, working across the world to help children affected by war. War Child was founded upon a fundamental goal: to advance the cause of peace through investing hope in the lives of children caught up in the horrors of war. War Child works in many different conflict areas around the world, helping hundreds of thousands of children every year.

Tomorrow at 12PM you can start bidding to win a sign by your favorite artists and help a great cause. More information about the auction at Under the Radar.

The cover of the next issue of Under the Radar will feature the amazing Jenny Lewis!
