TV Junkie: Monday

David LettermanDid you survive last night's avalanche of season premieres? Any favorites from last night?

Speaking of something that might or might not have been in your program, the FCC is weighing tougher disclosure on product placement within television programs. Right now the only disclosure of product placement occurs in tiny type during the closing credits of a program even though most folks with a brain will realize that when you see entire episodes of a program like "Mad Men", for example, devoted to introducing a cute Dutch beer called Heineken to 1960s housewives, somebody is paying for that to happen. We don't always need Tina Fey and the "30 Rock" gang to turn directly to the camera and say "now pay us our money" except for the laugh factor.

After last night's orgy of content, things are a little slow, also we're bummed that "Top Gear" is in reruns. Here's the TV Junkie plan: "Chuck"; "Terminator"; "Life"; "Letterman"; "Conan". Letterman was on a tear last week about McCain - let's see what happens this week.

8:00pm Chuck NBC - Season Premiere.

8:00pm Gossip Girl The CW - Blair decides to sabotage her mother's fashion show.

8:30pm How I Met Your Mother CBS - The Best Burger in New York

9:00pm Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles FOX - A software glitch causes Cameron to forget who she is. Goddam you Vista!!

9:00pm Heroes NBC - When four powerful villains take hostages at a bank, Angela sends H.R.G. and his shocking new partner in after them. Supposedly the new season ain't all that - what do you think?

9:30pm Worst Week CBS - Anyone watching this (new) show?

10:00pm Life NBC - Season Premiere

11:35pm The Late Show With David Letterman CBS - Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus; actor Michael Cera; Pete Seeger performs

12:35am Late Night With Conan O'Brien NBC - Comic Bill Maher; actor Simon Pegg; the Watson Twins perform..

well, considering Mad Men is about advertising...it's silly to think it wouldn't be filled with product placement.
but whatever...it’s a great show.

I survived the season premiere of The Unit. It was awesome. Gotta love when a playwright creates and writes a show about secret special forces.

I've actually been loving the new season of HEROES. Then again I'm a die-hard geek and I love even horrible comic book/sci-fi type stuff.

Monday night is all about RAY LEWIS hittin somebody.

chuck chuck chuck!!

last night was all about dexter and californication. i'm totally hooked on true blood too.

mjo - I agree with you, but the fact that they figured out to incorporate/recreate an advertising campaign from 48 years ago is pretty amazing.

thanks for your comments everybody!
