LAst Night's Action: Dodgers Lose Yet Win

Manny Shares with the Fans

San Diego Padres defeat LA Dodgers 7-5. Yeah the Dodgers lost, but as Vin Scully so eloquently put it, "Who cares?" The Dodgers found out at 2:32 pm that they were NL West Champs. They went through warm ups, batting practice and the game, then the celebration began. Now this is the first celebration I have seen where the players took to the fans. Russell Martin and Manny Ramirez were among the players spraying fans with champagne and beer. Next for the Dodgers is the final series of the season at San Francsico. As for the postseason, the Dodgers could face either the New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies or Chicago Cubs in the first round.

Oregon State Beavers defeat (1) USC Trojans 27-21. Oh the Pac 10. Up until this game it was widely thought the Pac 10 was the Trojans and everyone else. Well scratch that thought. Now the Pac 10 is officially a complete joke. The Trojans lost to a team that lost to Stanford and was whooped by Penn State. What more can be said?

LA Angels defeat Seattle Mariners 6-4. The Angels continued in their quest for the best record in baseball with their franchise tying 99th win of the season. Vladimir Guerrero broke the 4-4 tie in the ninth inning with a two-run homer off of JJ Putz. The Angel's magic number for home field throughout the postseason is down to one with Tampa Bay's loss to Detroit.

Chicago Fire defeat LA Galaxy 3-1. The Galaxy had a chance to take a step away from the pack in the Western Conference. Instead they miss a golden opportunity against the league's best defense. If the Galaxy miss the playoffs, they need to look no further than their 1-7-6 record in their last 14 matches.

Tonight's Action

LA Dodgers at San Francisco Giants. Derek Lowe will most likely take the hill against Brad Hennessey. I think. 7:35 pm FSN Prime Ticket, AM 790 KABC.

Texas Rangers at LA Angels. Vicente Padilla will hopefully stop the Angels from getting their 100th win against John Lackey. 7:05 pm FSN West, AM 830 KLAA.

As a Bruin fan Im thrilled that USC lost but ugh, it makes the SEC fans just snicker about the Pac10. Seriously, the only folks celebrating as hard as the Beavers last night were Sooner and Mizzou Tiger fans. All this does is open the BCS championship to other teams/conferences.

Anyway... GO DODGERS! Seriously do you think Hank the Idiot and Yankee fans feel better or worse that Joe Torre extended his consecutive playoff streak without the Yanks? Now they look even dumber for leaving Torre out of their Yankee Stadium celebration. Morons...

the real question: will manny be in LA or NY next year?

I came away with two things this season:

1) this team has a shot to go far and will hopefully win a playoff game.

2) ill probably never go back to Dodger Stadium for a while - I went 15 times this year and it just kept getting worse.

good times.

oh and theyll be signing manny to whatever he wants...

Why did Dodger stadium keep getting worse? I've been a season ticket holder for 10 years, and I think it's only gotten better.

fans, food, atmosphere, parking, getting there.

just went down hill in my eyes.

plus parking is a joke, it was far better last year when they raised the prices, they this year they kept the same prices, but didn't have any of the parking people controlling it all.

by the end of the season i was leaving in the 8th and coming late when i was always there for the whole game.

cons outweighed the pros.

that's why you park on sunset for free and get two dollar pints of PBR at the short stop before the game!

and LOL at usc. this bruin loves the beavers right now.
