Happy 40th, LA Chamber Orchestra!

lachamberorch40.jpgTomorrow, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra will celebrate 40 years with their season concert opener, which is LAist's classical pick of the week. KPCC put together a very nice report on the group starting off with the city's mural dedicated to classical music that shows off Alan Vogel and ten others over the 110 Freeway near the Staples center.

When I'm stuck in traffic on the 110 heading into downtown, I use the mural as a benchmark: "I'm approaching Alan Vogel...."

I’ve been secretly in love with the gorgeous girl in the green velvet dress on the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra mural for years.

Alan Voegel is amazing! he plays often at colburn faculty recitals, go check it out!
