Spielberg & Wife Donate $100K to Fight Prop 8

Steven Spielberg and wife donate to No on Prop 8Taking a cue from Brad Pitt, who donated the same amount last week, Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw donated $100,000 to oppose Proposition 8, the November ballot initiative that seeks to eliminate same sex marriage in California. "By writing discrimination into our state constitution, Proposition 8 seeks to eliminate the right of each and every citizen in our state to marry regardless of sexual orientation," their statement said per the Mercury News. "Such discrimination has NO place in California's constitution, or any other." Still, the Yes on Prop 8 side is some $5 million ahead in fundraising, but No on Prop 8 was the first to launch a television commercial which aired yesterday.

They donated $100k to OPPOSE Proposition 8 (see body text) - minor typo, but please fix in case this post is quoted elsewhere.

I was going to point out the exact same thing, Ben.

Here's hoping that we can win this war against discrimination!
