Most of these are jut so poorly designed. Like: 50. Argyle Av, Dix St, Franklin Av & Hollywood Fwy N/B On-ramp - If you are heading east on Franklin and want to get on the 101N you basically have to make a U-turn and skip over Dix. Who designed our freeways? Has no one ever heard of the clover leaf? It's like they stuck a bunch of on and off ramps wherever they would kind of fit, and once you're off the freeway, good luck getting back on.

I also commute on Laurel Canyon and there's really little help there. I mean, it's a canyon, it's not made for commuting, it just happens to be the most direct route between my house and my office. When heading west on Hollywood Blvd towards Laurel Canyon, though, they should have a no right on red sign. You have cars coming at you from two directions.

National & Sawtelle is terrible, especially now that they've added all the construction.

Also, the corridor on Olympic between Barrington and Sawtelle in West LA is a nightmare during the afternoon rush hour. That includes Olympic & Purdue. Might be the worst strecth of road on the Westside.

Santa Monica has a couple as well, including Lincoln & Ocean Park (especially bad since they went to one lane on OP), Ocean Park @ Centinela and Ocean Park & Bundy. Is there a worse turn lane in the city than OP and Bundy heading West?

The La Cienega onramp to the 405 is not on there because it's not in LA, it's in INglewood. There's a few bad intersections off the top of my head that are also located outcide the city of LA.

It's not a street intersection, but the 10 & 605 intersection was horribly designed. Congestion on either freeway going a certain direction slows down all the other directions on both freeways.

Since Vermont made the list 7 times should we not just eliminate that street from the city and start over.

When I think of my top10 most hated intersections after living in LA for 15 years and only 2 made the list - I realize that we are way beyond help. This city is a nightmare. Love it.

Im really surprised that the 405 South on ramp on La Cienega is not on this list. Imagine sitting in 20+ minutes of traffic just because huge failures insist on diving into the on ramp lane at the last moment. Its not traffic on the freeway, and the traffic light is off... no... you waited in that huge long line just because some a-hole in a Benz blasted by the huge line and dove into a tiny hole at the last second.

By the way, if you are someone who does that every morning, im the guy who closed the gap in traffic nearly causing you to hit the medium, then flipped you off for a good 10 miles. And im not sorry.

Silly me.

When I saw the headline I thought LADOT was about to get serious about fixing the intersections where the most people have died over the last bunch of years while crossing the street. I should have known that pedestrian safety doesn't factor in when LADOT is thinking of what is "good" and what is "bad." All that matters is how many cars we can move.

Also, what is with National Blvd. being listed like 5x? That street I think intersects with itself... ARRRRGH!!!

That intersection on National an Overland is insanely bad. Especially when folks are trying to get on the 10.

... But we saw what happens to traffic camera computers when you add the human element... doesn't anyone watch Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles?

Upside - Less congestion
Downside - The machines take over and John Connor has to fight them with his mom.
