LA Loses to Honolulu
It was obvious when Travel + Leisure Magazine put New York City up against Minneapolis that the big apple would win. It was an easy choice when you had to choose between San Francisco and Phoenix. But when we saw Los Angeles in competition with Honolulu, we knew the fate that was to come.
The second round of voting began today for the magazine's favorite city in America contest that follows up on their best of list that ranked our city number one in rudeness and lack of intelligence.

FAIL.
Shows how complacent we all are in supporting this great city. It deserves better.
So we're dumb & rude...
... and now we're a city of 10 million that couldn't muster enough voters to beat a tourist trap.
Ugh.

On the flip side, now we don't have to have any more articles that tell us we should go onto a silly website and vote for our city, and if we don't we must be bad people.

Hmmm. Honolulu has pretty beaches, but they are pretty screwed on any kind of actual local culture. This is a mystery to me...

Maybe this will help lower our housing prices :)

This blows. Los Angeles vs. the State of Hawaii, I can understand. But Honolulu is one of the worst places I've ever visited. There's nothing there. Waikiki is touristy crap, their ultimate culinary treat is Spam and Eggs, and the traffic is at least as bad as ours, since every single person uses their one freeway.
