Cultures collide tonight at the Hollywood Bowl. KCRW presents it's World Festival. The L.A. Phil helps celebrate Hispanic heritage by backing up some multi-cultural bands including Ozomatli, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Lila Downs, Nortec Collective presents Bostich + Fussible.
JOIN THE FAMILY
The Arclight screens the inarguable classics, The Godfather and The Godfather Part II in its Cinerama Dome. The screenings last until the 25th, so get your tickets fast! Both films have been meticulously restored by Paramount. This is a great chance to see the movies as they were meant to be seen!
SAY GOODBYE
Tonight is your last chance to check out Great Expectations, the musical, at the Odyssey Theater. Yes, that's right, Dickens' characters in beautiful gowns dancing about the stage. You probably don't want to miss this!
ATTEND AN ART OPENING
The Craft and Folk Art museum and the Los Angeles Printmaking Society, invite you to the opening of their new exhibition entitled, "Identity: Unlimited Editions". The exhibit focuses on how each artist expresses his or her "personal and cultural make-up". Come out and see the printmaking work of Judith Amdur, Joseph Vorgity, and several others. Reservations are required for this event.
MUSIC NEAR THE BEACH
As a benefit for the Venice Community Housing Corporation, it's the 16th Annual Venice Music Festival today from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Palms Court. The afternoon features the self-described "PunkyLatinReggaeRock" band Mandorico and salsa band Sono-Lux.
