Day 2 of the out-of-state Monolith Music Festival at Red Rocks this past weekend consisted of American Bang, Tokyo Police Club, The Avett Brothers, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Band of Horses, TVOTR, and Airborne Toxic Event who got their album torn apart on Pitchfork but rebutted. (Thanks a million to BetweenLoveandLike aka Erica for the ATE pics!)

The Kills are awesome! So fucking great on and off record. TVOTR's new album is groundbreaking. If I didnt know any better Id say it was a new David Bowie record. Only Early bowie meets Labrynth Bowie. TVOTR should be up there with the likes of Radiohead. Constantly changing perceptions of what can be considered popular music.
I was just listening to that TVOTR album in the car and couldn't agree more, caliking.
I truly think you have something here, caliking. Their show was nothing short of UNBELIEVABLE, and their creative songwriting still has that single thread of TVOTR flowing through. Never wavering, but always exploring.
Well it seems as though you missed the biggest disappointment of the show: Justice.
And not because they weren't good. On the contrary, Justice was absolutely mind-blowing live (unlike most other knob-twiddlers I've seen who put on a snoozefest - crystal method, royksopp, chemical brothers et al).
No, the f-ing power cut out 5 minutes into their set, got fixed 10 minutes later, and blew out again 15 minutes later, effectively ending the show.
Also - what's up Erica? Was nice meeting you in the photo pit. I was the tall pale guy with glasses who was alternating with the slightly-asian looking girl behind the photo.
