MUSIC: The 1st & Central Summer Concerts at the Japanese American National Museum continues tonight with Greek vocalist Savina Yannatou and classically trained, Iranian-born singer Mamak Khadem who’ll offer traditional sounds of the Mediterranean and Middle East. The concert begins at 6:30 pm in Little Tokyo.

FILM: There’s a great double feature tonight at the Aero in Santa Monica at 7:30 pm featuring the work of Chinatown cinematographer John A. Alonzo, who also did Harold and Maude -- that great love story between suicidal youngster Bud Cort and an eccentric, 80-year-old Ruth Gordon. It’s followed by The Man Who Shot Chinatown; The Life and Work of John A. Alonzo.

THEATRE: Louis and Keely Live at the Sahara is about Louis Prima and Keely Smith, deemed the “wildest act in Vegas” – a the lounge act that moved to the main Sahara showroom and played multiple sets night after night from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. from 1948 to 1961. The play’s the story of “how this legendary pair fell in love, how they became one of the most influential musical acts of their time, how it tragically came to an end, and how their musical legacy survives to this day.” Fans of vocal classic tunes such as “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” “That Old Black Magic,” “Autumn Leaves,” “Just A Gigolo” will be sure to enjoy this play, which starts at the Matrix Theatre tonight at 8 pm.

SLIDESHOW*: Comedian and historian Charles Phoenix brings his nostalgic slideshow to the Peterson Automotive Museum tonight at 7:30 pm. No one celebrates the kitschy-ness of Los Angeles and the rest of SoCal quite like Phoenix. Reservations required.
