Bootyproducer is correct. Casa B's blows this place out of the water. Nicky D's is also pretty good.

Anyone ever try Nicky D's in Silver Lake? I think its on Rowena...that's also pretty good pizza.

Yeah...not so much. These places listed above are all are averageat best on the pizza scale. There is no good pizza in LA..save one. Try Casa Bianca in Eagle Rock. These places aren't even of the same page as this joint. I come from Connecticut, and if you know pizza you know what that means. This is the closest approximation to East Coast pizza this side of the Mississippi. On Colorado.

Yes Mozza is amazing. I have tried almost every delicious pizza they serve, but Mozza is not a place you can stop by for a slice.

Try Enzo's in Westwood, the best NY style I've ever had (incl. in NY). Abbot's Pizza - the salad pizza is incredible. I think it's only available at their original location (AK & California).

Wow that looks like real NY pizza... I'll have to try and see if it takes me back. My current fave is actually Mulburry St in Encino. They have other locations but I've only tried the valley. Excellent NY style. The Chicken Parm pizza with fresh tomato and basil is the best!

I went to Vito's this weekend to confirm what I already know. I like Joe's in SM better. Not by much though I prefer the toppings at Vito's. But the crust At joe's is a little thicker and has more of a bite to it. I will add one more name which is LaRocco's in Culver City which has the best sauce of the three. But none can compare to my gold standard which is the original Regina's in Boston's North End.

This looks great, but the best pizza in L.A. is at Santino's, on Woodman near Ventura in Sherman Oaks. $2.50 gets you not one, but two large slices. Homemade brownies and cookies for like 50 cents. Great, friendly mom-and-pop place with typical red and white checkered tables outside as well.

Boston North End 'slices' are twice as big. Big fan of LaMonica's in Westwood, personally. Not perfect, but no pizza in LA ever will be. \Eastcoastpizzasnobbism

I love Vito's so much. My only problem is the slices can be not so fresh sometimes, and the pizza is only comes in one gigantic size. But its incredible. And please please please don't compare it to Greco's. That stuff is cardboard with salt on top. So gross.

The old location made me so sick once. I threw up for three days. I have never been back. My favorite is Robano's it's just over the hill on Riverside drive. It is the same guy who used to own Albano's on Melrose.

I agree about Vito's being really good and having friendly staff. I was once a Vito's adherent, but recently I tried Joe's Pizza (in Santa Monica, on Broadway and 3rd street) and I have to say it's better than Vito's in almost every way (crusty crust, sauce, and pepperoni...) But, yeah, Vito's is really awesome too.

Thanks for pointing out the new location. I actually loved eating their pizzas from their original location on Vermont Blvd (across LACC). I remember their walls was adorned with written comments and sometimes drawings by customers.

Looks good. Kinda like Grecco's on Hollywood blvd at Cahuenga. Grecco's has the same style of giant thin yummy slices. Also very good. And Grecco's has been there since before I can remeber, at least 20 years.
