"As a state, I believe we should uphold the ability of our friends, neighbors and co-workers who are gay and lesbian to enter into the contract of marriage," said California Sen. Dianne Feinstein in a statement about Proposition 8, that November ballot initiative that seeks to ban gay marriage in California.
Also last week, it was Republicans vs. Republicans. The state party had endorsed Proposition 8 and the local one to Los Angeles was planning to follow suit. But Scott Schimdt from Republicans Against 8 strongly believes this goes against what Republicans stand for. "We are focused on reaching Republicans who are willing to listen about how Proposition 8 violates conservative values like limited government, personal responsibility and fundamental freedoms," he said to the Daily News.

Good 'ol Dianne F.
If No on 8 hadn't gotten so much support from so many other big names you can be assured she would have stayed silent regardless of her true feelings. She supported the Iraq war right up until the polls showed most other people didn't.
She's just going with what ever is most politically expedient, as usual.
Way to stand up for something Big D!
So after the LA Times, LAUSD, United Methodist's Pastors as well as Episcopal Bishops ...
the "no" side is gaining so much momentum...
