FEED FEAR THE BIRDS
Super cool speakeasy bar, The Edison, will screen The Birds tonight alongside the Jules Verne Festival. This screening marks the first in a monthly series at this bar. Hitchcock's own daughter, Patricia Hitchcock, will be in attendance as well as actress Tippi Hedren. No birds allowed.
ENJOY A GLASS
To attend a decent wine tasting one must travel to Santa Barbara or Napa. Now Los Angeles French bistro, Mes Amis, hosts Sunday Wine Tastings. Each week the restaurant focuses their selection on a single region in France. (Only encouraging you to attend every Sunday).
GET DOWN
Tired of sitting behind a desk, watching the clock tick away, your mundane life passing before your eyes? Well now is your chance to let loose: come out to the International Indigenous Hip Hop Gathering taking place this afternoon at the Ford Amphitheatre. If you arrive at 3 p.m. before the show starts, you can take part in a workshop to learn dances from some great dancers.
Other Things To Do...
Attend the last Philip-Lorca diCorcia tour at LACMA, purchase plenty of handcrafted goods at the Manhattan Beach Arts Festival, see a showing of Fables Du Theatre tonight at the Unknown Theater, or check out some futuristic styles at the New High (M)art in Chinatown.
