phiLAnthropist: 45th Anniversary Screening of 'The Birds' & Remedee+GOOD

DRINK ABSINTHE AND WATCH "THE BIRDS": This Sunday, The Edison downtown celebrates the 45th Anniversary of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds". Originial stars Tippi Hedren and Rod Taylor will be in attendance at this "once in a lifetime celebtration" to which a portion of proceeds will go to the Jules Verne Charity Educational Mission. The organization is dedicated to "education and conservation though imagination", all in the name of saving the planet.
Sunday, September 14th at 6pm. Tickets are $20 and include complimentary appetizers before the show.


JOIN GOOD MAGAZINE AT siteLA FOR THE DEBUT OF REMEDEE: PhiLAnthropist is a big fan of GOOD magazine, and next Thursday, siteLA teams up with GOOD for the debut of Remedee, "a non-profit organization that seeks to amplify the voices of the next generation by providing youth with the resources and education to create change". Free cocktails will accompany the premiere of REEL EARTH, a series of short documentaries created by kids from New Oreleans that explores the environmental issues impacting their lives.
