Traffic Alert: Major Crash on 405 North at Ventura Blvd.

Just as rush hour was beginning for the afternoon, a six-vehicle crash involving a dump truck with a punctured fuel tank forced the California Highway Patrol to close all lanes except the car pool lane and issue a SigAlert at 4:37 p.m. this afternoon. As of 5:20 p.m., units were still on scene according to an LA Fire Department spokesperson. Three people were injured with one 24-year-old woman taken to the hospital in serious condition.

I'm a day late, dollar short on this one. No wonder my commute home yesterday from Westwood to Sherman Oaks was terrible.

My backroad into the SFV normally takes me 30 min door to door but was near double that yesterday.

The young woman died from the accident. She was a great person. Very tragic. Our thoughts are with her family.
