Extra, Extra

- Out On A Limb: A tree trimmer in Sun Valley had to be rescued by the fire department after being trapped in the tree he was working on. The crew had him out quickly after they arrived, but the memories will linger a little longer.
- All He Wanted Was A Taco: A man was shot near a taco truck this morning in Arleta. Although he was shot several times in the chest and arms he is thankfully (amazingly) expected to live.
- Getting A Facelift: The LA Times reports that the oldest Jewish temple in LA will be restored and expanded. The temple, located on Wilshire Boulevard, bought five properties that were adjacent to it in order to expand. The sanctuary will close on the Holy Days in 2010 and reopen around two years later.
- Reaction to Road Rage: A man was arrested for trying to run a woman off the road... while police were watching. A woman called 911 and reported that someone was trying to run her off the road. An officer responded, followed and saw as the man tried to run her off the road again. When the officer went in to stop him, he crashed and was later arrested.
- Criminal Vengence: After helping US authorities find a smuggling tunnel near the US border, a high ranking Mexican Police official has been assassinated. The belief is that the local police in Mexico are corrupt and under drug lord influence.

The Wilshire Blvd Temple is not the oldest *Temple* but the oldest *Congregation*. The building was built in 1929 but the group of people who make up the temple's worshippers was established in 1862.
