Say yes
Just say 'yes' to these events around town tonight. / Great photo by ~db~ via LAist's flickr pool.

THEATRE: The Company of Angels and The Management in NYC present the West Coast premiere of The Chalk Boy tonight at the Alexandria Hotel in downtown LA. Set in a small town, the story focuses on the relationship between four girls. “They struggle with faith, friendship, sex, the occult, algebra, and the disappearance of . . . The Chalk Boy. This is a deathly black comedy that punches as hard as your high school bully.”

TRANSPORTATION*: Getting across town to the Westside is a beeyotch. But now’s your chance to get involved and participate in the solutions to the traffic issues plaguing our city. Metro is holding a series of community update meetings on the Alternatives Analysis phase of the Westside Extension Transit Corridor. The study they’ll present evaluates alternatives to address the growing traffic and congestion in the 38-square mile study area. Tonight’s meeting is in West Hollywood’s Plummer Park at 8 pm. The location is served by Metro Line 4 and free vehicle and bike parking is available.

FILM: Seems like its Bob Dylan week in LA. Tonight the Aero Theatre presents a double feature of Dylan beginning at 7:30 pm. Up first is The Other Side of the Mirron: Bob Dylan Live and the Newport Folk Festival (2007). “This brand-new film from Academy Award-winning director Murray Lerner documents the remarkably swift metamorphosis of Bob Dylan from scrawny, Guthrie-inspired protest singer to Ray-Banned rock icon in just three years. The footage has been newly transferred from the original negative with matching audio restoration.” Immediately following is Bob Dylan ’65 Revisited (2007). “An acclaimed new film on Bob Dylan drawn from countless hours of Don’t Look Back outtakes, it includes ultra-rare footage of Dylan writing and rehearsing material for his 1966 masterpiece "Blonde on Blonde."

TEEVEE: The Paley Center in Beverly Hills hosts a preview party for two Fox TV series Fringe and Do Not Disturb tonight. The screenings are part of a week-long series of free public screening events that offer a sneak peek at the fall season. For the first time, members of the casts and creative teams from several featured shows will participate in Q&A’s moderated by TV Guide talent prior to the screenings each evening.
