LAst Night's Action: I'm an Asshole

Ethier Hits a Solo Shot

LA Dodgers defeat San Diego Padres 8-4. Well the Dodgers figured out how to get hot down the stretch: keep Jeff Kent away. Since he left the clubhouse, the Dodgers have won every game handily. Listening to the game while stuck at work, the description of Clayton Kershaw's pitches did him no justice. Those pitches were outright filthy. Meanwhile the offense exploited all of the Padre's weaknesses. Andre Ethier was a double short of the cycle, and Manny Ramirez drove in three runs in the first three innings while getting his 30th home run of the season. This Jeckell-Hyde personality of the team has turned my feelings toward them Jeckell-Hyde.

LA Angels defeat Detroit Tigers 5-4. Angel's start Joe Saunders didn't get a decision in the game, but his performance was a gem compared to his last two outings. He went 6 1/3 innings giving up three runs on eight hits and a walk. The offense came through in the top of the ninth after Scot Shields gave up the tying run in the bottom of the gate. Chone Figgins took a walk, stole second and advanced to third on a Garret Anderson's infield out. Mark Teixeira hit a sacrifice fly to score Figgins and the winning run. Run manufacturing 101. Francisco Rodriguez allowed two on in the bottom of the ninth but got Placido Polanco to ground to third giving him his 54th save. He now need three more saves to tie Bobby Thigpin's record of 57 saves, and the Angel's magic number to clinch the division goes down to seven.

Chivas USA ties Tauro FC 1-1. The tie with Tauro FC eliminates Chivas USA from the CONCACAF Champions League. After losing 2-1 in Panama against Tauro, it brings the total goals of the home-and-home series 3-1 in favor of Tauro.

You're not an asshole, Mr. Bramlett, you're a guy who loves his ballclub.

T.J. Simers is an asshole.

neither simers or you are assholes. bramlett you love the dodgers like we all do and simers gets paid to mess with millionaires who play a game for a living. (and he does it pretty well). If these guys sweep the Padres i'm back on the bandwagon....and good riddance jeff kent.
