Movie Preview Voiceover Guy, Don LaFontaine, Dies

Don LaFontaine diesAs everyone says, you probably didn't know his name but you knew his voice. The man with the deep classic voice guiding moviegoers through trailers (he did over 5,000!) and heard in commercials (and he did over 350,000, wow) died yesterday at the age of 68.

Don LaFontaine lived in the Hollywood Hills and passed away of complications from Pneumothorax, a condition resulting from a collapsed lung.

Two videos are below: his recent Geico commercial where he appears in person and a little documentary about him.

He is awesome. I put him up there with Mel Blanc as a voice actor. Movies wont be the same...

Suck. I completely agree Manny - does Don have a star and if not, WHY not? :)

In a world...

Man. That truly is bad news to start off the day.
