Extra, Extra: Wouldn't You Give Your Hand to a Friend?

- On the heels of a small plane crash in Burbank, a banner-towing plane has crashed in Camarillo, killing the pilot. News reports have not disclosed what it said on the banner.
- Don't you hate it when you're just trying to enjoy your Grand Slam and the guy at the next table tries to saw off his own arm with a butcher knife? Yelp is definitely going to hear about this one.
- While on the subject of amputated body parts, condolences to family and friends of wrestling legend Walter "Killer" Kowalski, who was infamous for severing part of an opponent's ear during a match. Kowalski died yesterday after suffering a heart attack last week.
- When the temperatures rise, things get ugly. An unidentified man was found beaten to death along the Blue Line tracks near 22nd and Alameda
- The most ambiguous headline of the day award goes to "Man accused of shooting officer found hiding under pool table". It was not the police officer hiding under the pool table. But perhaps if he had hidden under a pool table, he might not have gotten shot and suffered a broken nose and jaw.
- When things get this crazy out there, maybe the safest option is just to just barricade yourself in your motor home and shoot at people who get too close.
- A major dust storm is causing many Burning Man attendees to take their body paint, psychedelic mushrooms and freak flags and go home.
- As if going after bacon dogs wasn't bad enough. Just in time for weekend BBQs, attack ads are demonizing the all-American hot dog.
- And the government still thinks it can legislate us into eating a more healthy diet. The California senate has voted to make California the first state requiring restaurants to display nutritional information. Maybe if they outlaw cupcakes... (only outlaws will have cupcakes?)

Putting nutritional information on food does not equate with forcing people to eat healthier. More information however might prevent people from being mislead.

I asked Sprinkles about their calorie count and they were all snippy about it. I bet it's 900 calories per cupcake but that will not stop me from eating them! EVER!

for all of you kids out there, if you inject air into your blood stream, you will die. So don't do it, there are plenty of tips on the internet on how to do this properly. Google it.
