  • Hit and run: Police in South LA are looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck the rider of a BMX bike in the overnight hours. The 30-year-old cyclist died of his injuries at a nearby hospital.
  • UCLA Cheating to Admit Black Students: A professor on the Admissions Committee of UCLA has resigned his committee position because he suspects the school of illegally admitting black students. No word if he will be searching for ways to get more in legally though.
  • Let's call the whole thing off: The search has been stopped in the yard of the home that once belonged to Linda and John Sohus; they are the couple at the center of the murder investigation to which the mysterious "Clark Rockefeller" has been tied to.
  • Perhaps He Missed His Last Subscription? A man tried to crash into the Playboy Mansion... TWICE and still couldn't get in. Police think it might have to do with an "ongoing dispute."
  • Missed It By THAT Much: A small plane missed the runway at Bob Hope (Burbank) Airport and landed in power lines and struck a parked vehicle lat night. Four were injured... three in the plane and the fourth a woman who fell trying get the heck out of the way.
  • How About Ur in the Penitentiary Now: KABC went along for a huge bust of the LA tagger crew "UPN" where they watched LA County Sheriffs bring in 11 members. UPN either stands for Ur Property Next or Under Pig's Noses. It is believed that they are responsible for between $480,000 and $1 million of damage.
  • Never Enough Heroes: FEMA is arranging for LA Fire Crews to be sent to Houston in preparation for Hurricane Gustav. It is part of their plan to send urban search-and-rescue teams to the Gulf area. Especially good since Gustav has now increased to a Category 4 Hurricane.
