For the second time in two days, a bank robbery has struck Los Angeles. Today, it ended in the death of a security guard after he was shot in the parking lot of the Bank of America branch at 29th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard (which is near or in the Jefferson Park neighborhood?). The two suspects got away.

"The worse the economy gets the more we can expect see these types of crimes happening in our very own neighborhood. People are desperate and desperate people aren’t always thinking rationally," noted cultural observer Jasyme Cannick, who lives behind the bank. "Caught in the crossfire are the ordinary people like myself and you who find ourselves in the right place at the wrong time. I say right place because that security guard was at work. At work in an economy where there are record numbers of people unemployed."
