this was absolutely tragic. i was on the bus and we drove by it. it must have happend just moments before we drove by, because nothing had been roped off yet. i saw the man with the severed leg on the street and the mangled cars...people were taking video and pics with their phones which was disgusting...

I went college a few blocks away from where this accident occurred and spent many nights jogging along Colorado Blvd. It is hard to imagine the danger that is involved when stupid, immature drivers drive like maniacs. This is so tragic. You have no right to endanger peoples lives so intentionally. Driving is a privildge and if you want to race, and there is nowhere to race, then you are shit out of luck. If you don't people to think you are an asshole, don't drive like and asshole.

I can't feature a twenty year old pregnant mom with four passengers racing. But what was left of the Nissan Maxima sure indicates that she was going "balls to the wall." Looking at the pictures I think the seventy MPH estimate is low. Folks that want to race need a place to go where the citizen is not put at risk and they can go as fast as they want...with safety supervision of course. So why can't that be done again, as it has in the past?

Anyone found guilty to have been part of the race should at the very minimum have their licenses revoked permanently in addition to what ever their jail time is which would hopefully be substantial.
