Hi - It's Ginny.

I didn't think the twittering was such a big deal. But, in hindsight - it generated a lot of silly and unworthy buzz. My side of the family is all up in Washington State, unable to be in the area around the delivery date. Also, I wanted a way to keep family and friends updated as the delivery progressed. I didn't expect or intend to bump up the total number of "followers", but it seems like a lot of those currently expecting hopped on over the last couple of days. They will soon find out that my life is usually uneventful.

Iolani Mariann arrived via 15 hours of epidural-supported labor and one hour of a c-section. She arrived on August 27th, in the last moments of the day 11:56 p.m., which was the original due date.

She came in at 8 pounds and 6 1/4 ounces. The kicker - she was 19 inches at birth.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my twitters. It was nice and appreciated. But, it also confused the hell out of my dad.

The most incredible moment of her life and she's going to keep texting through it?

Shudder.

Seriously.

You could at least refer to her by name: Ginny-Marie Case.

Nope, sorry. Count me among the weirded out. Not about birthing babies but about the need to transmit every moment via Twitter. This is borderline behavior. Sure, congrats and all -- but seriously, put down your iPhone. Just for a couple hours. Really. It's OK. Your friends will be fine. So will you.

Cool. Seems like everyone but Gwen Stefani has been twittering from the hospital this week.

Microblogging is a perfect way to keep friends and loved ones in the loop from a hospital. Audio/video, even phone calls would only be disruptive/disgusting to the rest of us carrying on with our days.

Good luck and congrats in advance, @ginnycase.
