Venice Beach to go (Partially) Nude Beach for a Day

gotoplessday.jpgIf you've enjoyed legally walking topless around the streets of New York City (yes, it is legal there and if you do get busted, you can take the police to court and win), then you might be interested in protesting for the equal opportunity to go topless in California, too. Tomorrow is National Go Topless Protest Day (with one protest at the Democratic National Convention next week) where those in support of this constitutional cause will march clad in nothing or slightly more. The Venice Beach protest begins at noon on the boardwalk at Navy St. As the neighborhood blog Yo Venice says, "CA Ladies, if you want the same rights as your NY sisters…be at the beach this Saturday."

There are no people walking around topless in New York and to emulate New York is to take a step back. No more New York

I'm actually going on a bike ride today from SM to Hermosa, so I'll pass right by this. Should be interesting...

I'm back! Topless, yes, but mostly guys. I'd say 90% of people wore stickers or fake nipples on their nipples. Sorry guys...

Better fake than none.

As Frank Zappa once said (paraphrased) a boob is just a blob of fat without the nipple.

I have pics of women without the fake nipples on!
I was there before the march started, I captured plenty of topless women without fake nipples.
I also have photos of the fake nipples being applied before they marched down the Venice Beach boardwalk.
The pics will be posted sometime next week.

We went a did an episode of our show down there -- it's on my site. I only saw women with fake nipples on, but parking was a bear and we got there late.

Strange event. It was interesting to shoot and do interviews.

Why all the breathless reporting...."boobs sighted in Venice". Grow up, get over it. They are only breasts....all sizes, shapes, colors, etc. Some are used to feed babies, others are just decorative...lots of them are cute, and 50% of the population has a pair.
Grow up.
Women should have the right to go shirtless in exactly the same manner men seem to have that right. Beaches, lakes, rivers...parks, front lawns, bike riding...all seem like perfect places and activities for both genders to go "topless".

Hopefully, someday, womens breasts will be just that..breasts..and not the fodder for some juvenile reporting a "sighting". Grow up.
