'Welcome to Hollywood, I've Got Connections'

modelassault.jpgSleazeballs are still using that shtick of telling women that they could be models and if they take photos with him, he's got the connections to get them with the right industry people. Last week, the LAPD arrested Miguel Angel Barrera, 44, of Chino Hills, for doing just that and taking it one step further by sexually assaulting the women during the photo shoots. From an LAPD notice:

The female victims are 14 through 23 years old. Barrera met his victims as they walked along the street in both the North Hollywood and Hollywood areas. He offered them high dollar employment as models for magazines and commercials. Barrera often spoke of his connection with movie studios while displaying business cards and photography equipment. After the victims agreed, they were taken to motels in Studio City where they were initially photographed before Barrera sexually assaulted them. Barrera is an Argentinean with black hair and light colored eyes, 5-10, 190 lbs. He speaks with an Argentinean accent, dark complexion, and wears his hair slightly long.

Sometimes, and unfortunately, things just don't change.

I'm really surprized anyone would fall for that these days, but I'm glad they got him off the streets in any case.

Caution ladies, if it seems too good to be true it probably is.

I guess naivete does still exist. Imagine that.

The difference here is that he doesn't own a t-shirt company.

Um... hello. That's how Dahmer convinced his victims to come to his apartment or hotel room. Not that being assaulted is any relief, but at least he didn't kill them.

I would think it would be a red flag if you're asked to go to a residence....

Not to mention those hotels in Studio City they are speaking of are incredibly dodgy. Really, ladies. What were you thinking? Good thing he's off the street.
