I wish I had half the fashion sense this kid has.

Very cool. I really like the idea of painting the jeans. He looks great! It's SOOOOOO LA!

OK, this pair of ripped jeans is sooooo much better than that last pair. This kid has style in the best sense.

I think this guy has the essence of style. He could be in New York or Paris or Berlin. Fantastic.

I LOVE those pants, wow. Excellent, excellent fashion sense.

Oh, how I loooooooooooove skater boys.

Lovin the whole thing... Except for the ciggy...why did he mess up the perfect outfit.

The splatter on the pants isn't really my thing, but great photo set. Really great window into what LA individual fashion is all about!

I could do without the graffiti, but other than that... thumbs up!

It doesn't get any better than that.

plese don't call this "skater" just because he has a skateboard.

Tom,

Strong post....hats off...so I've been thinking about it and I think the name should be:

avantGARBist

Avant-garde (new and unusual or experiemental ideas)
Garb (clothing or dress)

Let me know what you think...

i'm sorry but that is trying a little too hard.

and i bet you 10 bucks he can't skate

Thanks for the comments!

This guy was riding his skateboard when I stopped him to get these photos.
I don't know if he is a professional skateboarder or not, my focus was more about his style.

2enlightened thank you very much for the name suggestion but I'm going to stick with STYLEist.
I like "avantGARBist" but I already have a bunch of posts under the name STYLEist.

There is no way I can please everyone and I'm not even going to try to.
People will either like it or hate it and they can voice their opinions either way.
I don't think a name change will make people agree on what I post.

I can't pick and choose which comments will appear on my post like the Sartorialist can.
I'm an open target for anyone and everyone to say anything they feel, there is no censorship here.

If you hate something say it, if you like something say so, if you're just passing through and don't have a free account you can say that you like something by clicking "recommend this"
If you like to stay quiet that's cool too!

Have fun with STYLEist and don't look too deep into it all, it's just photos of people on the streets of Los Angeles.
We have drug addicts, gangsters, transgenders, senior citizens etc on our streets, it's not all hipsters and business men/women out there with style.

The city is very large so don't expect me to cover all areas in one shoot or even in one or two weeks, this is an ongoing project.

Thanks for checking out STYLEist,

Tom
