Found in LA: Lightning Storms

Lightning is usually not seen in Los Angeles when compared to other cities where it pretty much happens anytime it rains. So last night, those lucky enough to see it, probably enjoyed the sights. A couple LAist Featured Photos contributors on Flickr submitted their photos.

holy crap. amazing picture! not a hint of those storms here in noho.

exactly what I was thinking, I had no clue. Robyn, who commented on an earlier post, said she was able to see them from Porter Ranch. But she had the advantage of being on top of a hill out there in the Northwest Valley.

I could just see it from Silver Lake. Last night was fun-with-insomnia night, so at least I got a little light show out of it. It wasn't nearly as dramatic as the photos above, but still quite surreal.

At first I thought my neighbor was taking flash photos with the red-eye feature turned on. When I heard the boom some seconds later I knew it was a storm. Way too late to get up though and watch it.

Fantastic pictures...and yep, that was me in Porter Ranch. I witnessed over an hour of nature's incredible light show.
