"At Pann's Diner, the waffles can't be missed!" wrote LAist Featured Photos contributor staceyviera about this photo.
Pann's is in Ladera Heights at La Tijera and La Cienega and may be recognizable because it was featured in Pulp Fiction. They also received The Los Angeles Conservancy’s Award for best example of “Classic 50’s Coffee Shop.”
Update: We just spoke to Jim Poulos, the owner of Pann's. He explained that Pulp Fiction was, as a commenter pointed out, filmed at the Hawthorne Grille (previously known as Holly's). His family owned both Hawthorne and Pann's, but he later dissolved his partnership at Hawthorne after taking all the memorabilia seen in Pulp Fiction to Pann's. Hawthorne Grill did not even last a year on the market. Bewitched and the movie Next was filmed at Pann's.

I had always been told Pulp Fiction was filmed at Hawthorne Grille, which was torn down not long after shooting. Having been to Pann's it does look similar but it is not quite the place in the film.
Oh yum. Deep waffle pockets (Belgian?), plenty of syrup and (clarified?) butter.
quoting bingosdingo:
"...and (clarified?) butter."
I'd like to give you an Issac Hayes/Shaft inspired "shut your mouth"...
WHIPPED butter! It's a diner man, not Osteria Mozza...clarified, sheesh!
I mean I see they have the melted & possibly clarified shown in the photo...but I really think that whipped is more appropriate...for a diner...
You left out "XXX". Another forgotten Googie classic in the South Bay is "Chip's"

Pann's has the best French Toast I've had in LA, hands down.
