i'm down for making it a paid day off--like a monday or friday. making it on the weekend, over two days, it would just drag out the time it takes to get accurate results. either that, or, the extrapolators will deter people from voting and we'll get an even lower turnout, similar to hawaii's rates in presidential elections.

I think the big question for a weekend vote is will it be both days or not? Each day of the weekend is a big religious day for different people. I'm sure the actual bill floating around Washington D.C. addresses it and it's just that I haven't read that one yet.

I'm all for more paid holidays, but I'm thinking a weekend solution is better. Though there will no doubt be those who'd say making people vote on weekends is anti-God or anti-BBQ, or both.
