The LA Galaxy announced today that they are parting ways with first year coach Ruud Gullit, as well as President/GM Alexi Lalas. Assistant coach Cobi Jones will take the reins as interim coach while the team searches for Gullit's replacement, and assistant GM Tom Payne will oversee front office duties in place of Lalas. The official announcement is available here. More on this matter later today.

Leiweke needs to sell this club to someone who understands the game. He's making the club look like a joke to world. I will miss Ruud.
In re Lalas: good riddance.
In re Ruud: not around long enough to leave an impression. Bring in some homegrown talent. Or, maybe even Hugo Sanchez. That'd spur ticket sales.
Anyone else going to the derby this Thursday?
The Galaxy has been impossible to watch all season long. Sure, Becks got the big bucks, but it has to burn him having to play on a team where guys can't even trap the ball. Watching the Galaxy play offense is like watching George Bush try to think.
The MLS is basically a failure of a league. The best US players leave to play abroad and the only players with true skill come here from abroad after their prime. You watch a Serie A, Spanish League or Champions League game and then watch an MLS game and all you can do is shake your head.
Here's my only question: when will the other loser of a coach Preki (the Prick) be fired? Now there's a man who can't coach his way out of a paper bag. Chivas is another horrendous show.
