A friend and I stopped in for lunch at around 1:30 in the afternoon. We didn't have a reservation, but the place was only about half full. However, the hostess turned us away, the reason being that the kitchen was overwhelmed and would be unable to accomodate us unless we had a reservation. They were most likely doing this to make the restaurnt seem busier than it was (have people not learned how obvious this is?), but with all the empty tables it made it look unprofessional and disorganized. I hope they iron out the kinks soon - and teach their hostesses some manners!

i totally identify with the crestfall of a pudding-less evening. i must have gone into 6 different restaurants in dublin, searching for toffee bread pudding, before i finally found a place that served it. when pudding's on the brain, there is simply no turning back.

1) I would do terrible things to the handlebar mustache waiter. 2) I think $14 bucks a drink is very high.

Next time head to Pizzeria Mozza. Their butterscotch budino is awesome!!
