STYLEist: Androgyny, the New Sexy?

Marc Jacobs is doing it, are you?

Side Note: Garbage's "Androgyny" video is very stylish.

this is not style. it's a mess. androgyny could be sexy, but this isn't it.

I admire the audacity, but that's about it.

I'd still do her, or him.

I'm all for fashion as self-expression, but this is dude just looks dumb. That's not style. And A7X sucks goddamn.

Individuality and free expression when displayed in personal style is fantastic (in theory). Unfortunately it is not a right but a privelege. You need to earn the right to let your freak flag fly or you will just be ridiculed (and rightly so).

The right to personal style exists side by side with my right to make fun of your personal style.

Cheers,
james

did someone poke him in the face with a sharpie while he was sleeping??

"I always knew I'd make it in Hollywood"

So maybe people here confuse self expression with cries for attention.

this dude is downright terrifying.

hey tom andrews you gotta get out of hollywood blvd! there are better folks on melrose west of fairfax and in bev hills.

arbouler, i will hit the streets today!
i have posted some people on melrose and beverly hills in past STYLEist posts.
the woman in yellow skinny jeans was shopping on melrose and the lady with the VERY long hair was walking beverly hills.

i will hit melrose west of fairfax, maybe hang out near miss sixty or one of those stores on the blvd.
thanks for the suggestion, i welcome all suggestions of places to go to get pics for STYLEist.

Too many piercings for my taste, but I have seen worse...

love the hair, the outfit not so much.
i suppose some points are awarded for risk-taking, but the downside of that is that not every risky outfit actually works, this being one of them.

I'd like a venti mocha latte, please

I donno. What would you call it? Goth meets, rock, meets minnie mouse? You know...except for the shoes.

Maybe it's Betty Shocker. Fresh from baking something moribund in the kitchen.

Style? Who knows. Here everyone has the right to dress at they like. Yes, a right!

Oh and thanks once again Tom.

I don't get the Marc Jacobs connection to this. There is a lot of buzz being generated about androgyny in his designs. I don't see it. It's not so super slutty, either. The Fall/Winter line looks like typical depression era clothing, long and drapy.

Love the "Betty Shocker" BingoDingo

Miss Havisham,
The connection to Marc Jacobs is the fact that he is using male models in womens clothing.
There is an ad for Marc by Marc Jacobs in the August Paper Magazine, front 2 pages.
The ad has a guy in a hot pink houndstooth 80's looking minidress, it's wild!

Hey now there's an idea for the next reality show. A Goth recipes cooking show, featuring Betty Shocker making her famous moribundt cake. made with dark chocolate, of course, so it comes out looking Goth.
