Uber-Geek.

Fish out of water?
poor guy is clearly a East Coast (or SF) transplant...not that that is bad, just very obvious in Hollywood.

PERFECT rinkrat!
Uber Geek:
"An uber geek is a prominent or extreme example of the common geek . Uber, the German word for above or over, has been adopted by English-speakers as a prefix meaning super or ultra; thus, the uber geek is one whose preoccupation with technology goes above and beyond that of the average geek."

He's here on business. And, the tie doesnt flatter the suit. I'm voting geek.

tahda,
He does look he's an East Coast transplant or possible SF transplant.
You don't see guys like this very often in Los Angeles, especially getting on a bus.

Um - doesn't that look like Tim Papendreou of Metro. Super hot!
Further proof that public transportation can be the great equalizer! Bring on higher gas prices! Only if it means more hot guys on the train.
All you boys should be looking that good on the bus or train. Maybe we would be more likely to give you the time of day.

I agree with WestsideBunney. He has good shoes to go with that suit too.

seriuosly? the tie over the shoulder? lame...
[ report this ]
Can't believe no one has realized he probably threw the tie over his shoulder in order to keep it out of the way (washing his hands maybe?) and forgot to put it back down.
Did you do the favor of reminding him?
[ report this ]
paul, he kept looking from right to left, you would think he would see the tie out the corner of his eye.
it's one thing to forget to pull up your zipper but to not notice a striped tie against that charcoal grey suit seems a little odd.
i guess if he is an "Uber-Geek" he may have liked the look.
* i didn't say anything to him, i didn't want to bother him ;)

business sexy for going Metro! yar yar yar yar....

I know that corner, Hollywood and Cahuenga.
Any guesses on his occupation?
I'd guess an atty looking at the thickness of his valise.

The Hollywood Suit Outlet is just down the street, so why is this so out of the ordinary?
[ report this ]
Because he's wearing a suit on Hollywood Blvd. and it's not a Superman Suit.

This is the way I wear a tie, when in a suit, which is rarely, when I visit the little boy's room.
Just sayin...

Yes - Sexy on the Metro. Why does riding the Metro have to conjure up the "casual commuter" attire?
Using public transit does not give you permission to dress like crap.
When I walk through Union Station around 5:45 all I see is a sea of depressed office workers, blue jeans and Hawaiian shirts. And, I'm not just talking about the days when the VALLEY people come across on the Red Line to take the free trolley to the stadium.
The show "What Not to Wear" would have a fit.
And, casual Friday...JESUS...people it's not code for getting out your ugliest t-shirt, and hiking those pants up even further. Stop...your boys want to breath! And, I don't need to see the camel toe of 1/2 a million 60 year-old men.
I'm looking forward to the day where heels and the over-the-shoulder-tie is common place on the train.
And...I'm looking forward to the day where people no longer carry their work bag, a backpack, and that stupid-ass-looking thermos.
FIDM should seriously consider looking at putting together a communter-fashion course. Over half of Los Angeles could use it.

westsidebunney, you really said it well!
"FIDM should seriously consider looking at putting together a communter-fashion course"
You should hit the streets with me sometime!
"I don't need to see the camel toe of 1/2 a million 60 year-old men."
sarahfenix, have you ever looked at the suits that are in the window at the hollywood suit outlet?
It's PIMP central! you can get 3 suits, 3 ties, 3 shirts and 3 belts for $99.00!
and to top it off they all come in purle and beautiful shades of yellow, pink etc. etc.

Thanks for your creative intepretations, opinions and comments. The tie blew over my shoulder when a bus went past (sorry! I didn't realize the transit paparazzi was out in force that day)!
I am actually an LA transit and bicycle rider-have been car free (out of choice) for nearly 10 years here. I can attest that the number of "suits" has trebled over the past few years and especially in just the last 6 months.
You see more of this if you live, work and play in the Downtown-Silverlake-Hollywood-West Hollywood core area of LA ( similar in size & density as SF) than outside this area.

Oh my god, with those amazing good looks, he MUST be a model!! That profile is too divine! If I saw people like him on the bus, I would totally start taking transit!
