Whatever your feelings are about Ed Boks or the Department of Animal Services, it would be more productive and effective to offer solutions and help instead of carping about how Ed sucks. Even if he does, and is a pathological liar like folks say, how is that helping the animals? The people who were there (I was one of them) were there to put acrimony aside and DO SOMETHING. The animal community can be so petty, and the ones who suffer for it are our animal friends.

Euthanasia has not gone down 50% in the last five years. It's not gone down at all. It's gone up. The statistics are here http://www.laanimalservices.com Don't just parrot what Ed Boks says. He lies all the time.

Most of the animals coming into the shelter nowadays are kittens. They are not the result of foreclosures. They are the result of unneutered cats. Boks is using the foreclosure crisis as an excuse for his own failures. Foreclosures are up in New York City. Intake is up only slightly yet euthanasia is down.

Actors and Others for Animals is a fantastic group. Kudos to Sue Taylor for helping with the seminar even after Boks blasted her in his blog.
