Those who are genuinely concerned about the proposed transportation sales tax measure are invited to attend this Saturday's meeting of Southern California Transit Advocates, where Metro Board member Pam O'Connor will be the guest speaker.

Our meetings are held in the 4th floor community room of Angelus Plaza, 311 S. Hill St., one block north of Pershing Square Red/Purple Line Station (the location is also served by several bus lines, including 4, 10, 81 and 94).

The meeting begins at 1:00pm.

Reverse robinhood? Gimme a break!

I don't blame Antonovich for trying to get more for his constituents, that's his job. But let's have a little intellectual honesty here. Mike's trying to tell me they have more people in Antelope Valley who live below the poverty line, than we have here?

Riiight!

It's not about population distribution, it's about JOB distribution, and the sales tax proposal as written would build transit projects to the JOBS in the county. Santa Clarita is PROJECTED to be 11% in 30 years? So what? It currently has Metrolink service. Molina's district has the Gold Line extension, the Alameda Corridor, Metrolink, and the El Monte busway. The projects that would be funded by this tax would extend the existing network deep into the Westside and the South Bay, expand downtown connecting service, and give EVERYONE in the County some form of rail connection to every other part of the County.

So what exactly is the problem here?
