FILM: The AFI at the ArcLight series in Sherman Oaks continues tonight with Alien (director's cut) on the big screen. See Sigourney Weaver kick ass in the 1980 Ridley Scott-directed film all over again.
COMEDY*: At the Upright Citizens Brigade in Hollywood, Doug Benson brings along a few friends and their favorite movie clips to screen and riff on. The theme for this month’s “Doug Benson Loves Interrupting Movies” night is sports, so you’ll probably see (and hear) a few of your favorite films like you’ve never seen before. We’re hoping someone brings Ice Castles. The show starts at 9:30 pm, and tickets are $5.
TAPAS: Yes, you're broke. We can relate. These tough economic times call for cheap eats. Tinto Tapas in West Hollywood wants to accommodate your budget by providing $5 tapas from 5:30-10 pm tonight.
BOND, JAMES BOND: The New Beverly Theatre's screening the first two James Bond films tonight. They've been digitally restored, so see Dr. No (7:30 pm) and From Russia with Love (9:40 pm) as they were meant to be seen.
LEARNING: Tonight from 7-9 pm at the Theatricum Botanicum, playgoers will have a chance to explore the language and themes of the company's present offering Long Day's Journey into Night with director Heidi Helen Davis and members of the cast. The evening is part of a new event series called Herta's Roundtables; with all proceeds from the $15 fee going to benefit the Herta Ware Scholarship Fund.
