There is no joy in Mudville, but Malibu is a different story.
Who cares if Mighty Casey struck out? Perez Hilton reached second on a throwing error.
On Saturday, a group of actors and Hollywood-types gathered for an ocean-side kickball game to benefit Friends of El Faro. The orphanage in Tijuana (officially known as Casa Hogar Sion) got a $15,000 check thanks to a title sponsorship from French Connection.
Oddly enough, the scene felt like an American Eagle ad. Or maybe something from Zoolander -- the crowd was really, really, really ridiculously good looking. Speaking of which, one spectator wondered aloud, "Can you recycle watermelon?" At least her intentions were good.
A quick name drop: Leslie Bibb, Ryan Eggold, Kyle Howard, Martin Starr, Nick Kroll, Nicholas Gonzalez, Katie Cassidy, Whitney Cummings, David Henry, Josh Meyers, Michael Smith, and Tessa Benson got down for the cause. Everybody was skinny, though it looked like only one was athletic. (Who? No comment.)

Friends of El Faro has another big benefit coming up this week. Check out their website to find out more.
