On Saturday, around 1000 people took park in the first annual Underwear Affair for City of Hope to raise money and awareness for those below-the-waist cancers (prostate, colorectal, cervical, ovarian, kidney, bladder, testicular and uterine) that do not always get the attention they should.
It was a first for Los Angeles and the 10K run/5K walk was a success, so they're bringing it back next year (It's good to see an undie run with a cause and we think UCLA's Undie Run should up the ante on that end). Here's what happened through the lens of LAist Photographer Tom Andrews...

I was at LACMA yesterday where they were setting this thing up and there were wandering service personnel wearing boxers on their heads. Until I finally saw a sign for the event and figured out what was going on I was pretty confused.
