Apparently the school board members don't realize that people have to vote on measures for them to receive special funding, and to be elected to the school board. This is atrocious. A school board has no place supporting any sort of legislation not related to the school itself. I went to high school in Bakersfield, and I thought the intolerance by the students was bad when I came out of the closet. I can't imagine what it would have been like if I hadn't had support from my guidance counselor, and other members of the administration.
