EAT & DRINK
A whole bunch of SoCal eateries (i.e. Spago, Hitching Post, Mozza, Campanile, Lucques/AOC, and more) are getting together with a whole bunch of Central Coast Wineries (i.e. Sea Smoke, Linne Calodo, Ojai Vineyard, Melville, Hitching Post, Tantara, and a ton more) for Wally's 5th Annual Central Coast Wine & Food Celebration. The event runs Noon to 4 today at Wally's Wine and is a benefit for the M. Bonaccorsi Scholarship Fund @ UC Davis. It's $150 at the door, but a lot of good eating and drinking to be had, all for a good cause.

EXPERIENCE THE STATE FAIR...THE MOVIE
Hey, it's free! And if you've been caught up in the spirit of movie musicals lately for some reason, it could be a hoot to check out Rodgers and Hammerstein's 1945 State Fair this afternoon at the Alex Theatre in Glendale. Doors open at 1:30 for this 2 p.m. free screening held in honor of the Alex's projectionist George Crittenden.

BE SWEPT AWAY BY ARMENIA MANIA!
Tonight's Grand Performances show at California Plaza is Speak Theater Arts locally rooted Armenia Mania! Billed as: "Traditional theater meets untraditional performances in a cutting comedy about three women set on blending ancient traditions with first generation ambitions as part of the fastest growing ethnic group in America. Well, okay, Glendale." Well, okay. As always, Grand Performances is free, and you can do some picnicking, too.

WATCH A LADY IRON
No, seriously. It's art. "Hong Kong-born and San Francisco-based artist Mung Lar Lam uses reclaimed cotton fabric, starch, and the task of ironing to create evolutionary works which blend qualities of drawing, painting, sculpture, and architecture." You just might catch her there ironing and re-folding her work as part of this installation at the Craft and Folk Art Museum in her "Ironings" show, which closes next weekend. The museum is open from Noon to 6 today.

Other Things to Do: See what's up with the X Games, chow down on dumplings at the Noodle House, try Malo's very drinkable Medicina Latina, spend $3 more today on your general admission ticket to Disneyland, play some Flag Football, or head down to Long Beach for the 2nd day of the Crawfish Festival.
