Dr. Christopher Thompson of Mandeville Canyon, the man accused of assaulting two cyclists with his vehicle on Mandeville Canyon Road during the morning of Fourth of July, had his day in court today. At 8:30 a.m. he appeared at the airport courthouse, pleaded innocent to felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon reckless driving causing injury (2) and battery with serious bodily injury (2) and the special allegation of causing great bodily injury. His lawyer spoke on his behalf and said that the incident was an accident.
The next court date for Dr. Thompson is September 12th, but the proceeding will probably take place without Dr. Thompson, who took steps to authorize his council to appear on his behalf.
Meanwhile, charges that the doctor was involved with another road rage incident with cyclists on March 17th on Mandeville Canyon are being investigated.

He can plead all he wants. It's the civil case that'll sting. His "professional" malpractice insurance won't cover the personal damages of a severed nose. Which could include potential earnings over the course of the victims earning years. Depending on his career.
So keep pleading doc.

Sounds like the good doctor is definitely investing in his defense and doesn't want his face plastered all over the internet.

Dr. Thompson's Attorney waived the reading of the charges in the courtroom saying "We are aware of the charges."
The 4 felony charges (five yrs max State prison):
2 counts of reckless driving causing specified injury
2 counts of battery with serious bodily injury

She is interested in hearing from anyone who has information on this incident or any information on past incidents with Dr. Thompson.
Thanks for staying on top of this story. I'm sure with this guy's resources he'll only end up with some lame fine and probation, but it is nice to see someone who has deeply violated the social contract squirm.

The bad doctor also had hired a couple of body guards that were there. When they left the court room, I was on their tail. The hung out in front of the elevators till only their crew were there. They took the next elevator and the wide freakin security goon was they last one to get on, but he didn't. I was behind him and he was trying to block me out. I kind of muscled my way past him and got on the elevator, as did he after I got on. I just wanted to project my anger on to this bad doctor, and feel the negative energy of this elevator ride. The little twerp attorney was staring and smiling at me. I smiled back and tried to project my anger as best I could. Seem like a soulless and lifeless useless fuck. When we got out of the elevator they were doing the scrambling around like a bunch of rats ready to have a broom lowered on their heads. They made their way through the cafe and out the back. I got a feeling this bald headed slim ball attorney had done this before. If I had someones tele and knew who was downstairs, I could have given everyone the low down. Personally I felt like I had to go home and take a shower after being in the same elevator as these fucks. I'm also really bummed I missed bringing my camera. I could of had some good pics. At least I could spot this sicko on the streets if I ever have the pleasure.

It already looks like the defense team is going to use the outrage of the cycling community to make Dr. Thompson look like the victim here.

I keep hoping to hear more news on the results of this case, but nothing seems to be getting reported. Has anyone heard anything? Did Sept 12 happen? Has the case been decided?
