LAPD Chief Bratton Explains Lindsay Lohan 'Gay' Comment

Jimmy Kimmel called our police chief a gossip columnist last night after LAPD Chief William Bratton walked up to KNBC cameras clad in his morning workout clothes to talk about yesterday's paparazzi taskforce hearing, which included John Mayer, Milo Ventimiglia and Eric Roberts. Bratton showed off his gossip/current events knowledge by listing off what was going on with Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan. He said since "Lohan has gone gay," the paparazzi issue is not as bad at the moment.
The gay comment was in reference to Lohan's "reported romance with DJ Samantha Ronson," according to the Daily News. Bratton had meant, he said, that the relationship had "quieted her down." Two West Hollywood councilmen were not happy with his comment, but it shouldn't be forgotten that Bratton is a supporter of gay rights, has actively tried to recruit gay officers and recently donated money to the No on Prop 8 campaign to help fight the proposed gay marriage ban.

Bratton ACTUALLY meant to say, "teh ghey," but it sort of loses its context when verbally stated.

I don't think William Bratton meant any harm.

How could he not be aware of Paris and Britney when John McCain is using Britney and Paris in a presidential campaign ad!
Paris and Britney being used to gain a possible seat in the oval office is truly frightening to me!

Okay..clearly the fact that Bratton is down with the gay lingo signifies that he is anything but homophobic. I wish people would stop being so sensitive about this issue.
