Woman Stabbed to Death in Century City Parking Garage

crimeYesterday evening, a woman was found with stab wounds to her neck at 1875 Century Park East in the parking garage, according to CBS2 per the LAPD. She later died at 7:45 in an area hospital.

The suspect's description was only that of a slender man in his 20s in blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt that fled in a red SUVs. Police say the intent does not appear to be a carjacking.

The victim was reportedly screaming for help, which prompted a swift response of building officials, security and other bystanders, two of them, doctors, that rendered aid before paramedics arrived. One of the doctors was initially detained and handcuffed for questioning because he had used his shirt to help stop the flow of blood and was later released.

People who had cars in the garage had to wait for hours before driving out as investigators crawled through the crime scene.

Update, 11:07 a.m.: The victim has been identified as Pamela Goudie Fayed, 45. Fayed is a resident of Ventura County and was not employed at any local establishments in the area, according to the LAPD.

Very disconcerting.

I was wondering why the LAPD is so thick (not that it's surprising). I heard that they arrested a physician and detained him, because he had removed his shirt to stop the woman's bleeding, couldn't they figure this out before they dragged him down to the station.

Very disturbing, in every respect.
