The streets of Sherman Oaks recently got plastered with signs announcing a new Thursday night Farmers Market coming to the Sherman Oaks Fashion Square property starting on August 7.
It's been years since the weekly market in another part of the neighborhood closed down, so this could be a fresh awakening and good complement to the already popular Studio City Farmers Market on Sunday mornings.
They expect over 4,000 people to attend and it suspiciously already has three Yelp reviews, all with 5 stars (that's pretty good for something no one has experienced yet).
However, it does look promising. In addition to fresh produce, there will be a world cuisine area next to an outdoor dining area abut a live music stage, according to a map posted on their website. There will also be an artists' row, crafts, pet adoptions and a kids area.

I've seen those signs too, looked up the web address and read the Yelp reviews. This could be good.
It's interesting to see that the first yelp reviewer "Nima H." has a name similar to one of the co-founders Nima Hadadi. But that's just a coincidence, right? After all, Nima H. has only "heard that this farmer's market is suppose to be huge and they are expecting 4-6 thousand people". I'm sure Nima Hadadi would have much more concrete information regarding the market for her Yelp review.
We will certainly check it out, but for my time and money the wife and I really like the Encino farmers market.
Good catch rmortiz. I've never been to the Encino Market as I tend to go to the Studio City one. When/where is Encino?
Encino is Sundays 9-1 on Victory between Balboa & White Oak.
Didn't that sign say 5 pm? Don't know about y'all but that doesn't do much for me.
So I did some research (aka www.greenfarmersmarkets.org) and it goes till 9pm...it is kinda funny that that Nima kid is reviewing his own market but I'd do the same. anyway, he's pretty cute. another reason to go...
Just came from the market. It is the same style as the Studio City Market. I am sooooo glad they finally came to Sherman Oaks. Looks like they have a good turnout. They need more vendors to choose from. Too much games, assorted stuff, they will grow I hope.
