And just to add, i for one am glad small independent businesses can thrive in this economy. better a thousand scoops, filled with west side tools* than even one more Baskin Robbins. *No offense to the West Side. You know I only hate on you to earn cred here on the east side. :P

I don't know whether all of you have read what I just read, but I want to associate myself and this comment with what Carrie meathrell has just said and say I have never been prouder of CBS. But seriously, mactivist, get a grip and learn that gentrification doesn't mean what you think it means. And really, businesses like Scoops aren't here to help you with your hipster indie cred or flatter your awesome powers of ebing in the know sooner-than-thou. OH MY GOD if one more person posts some LAME-ASS comment about "this LAist review is going to bring the evil evil hipster-yuppies to this place and ruin it".... Why do you NOT want these establishments to get business and make sales? What sort of BASSACKWARD logic is that? If you like their product, shouldn't they be able to, I don't know, EARN A LIVING BY SELLING IT??? But no! No! Let the businesspeople starve, and let the snobs have their secrets. As if scoops hasn't been completely ran down by the yuppies and hipsters in their bikes, this place is going to be killed after this LAist review. Sadness, I will go one last time, and mourn the loss of yet another fine establishment at the hands of good ol' gentrification... Oh to think of Scoops when it had barely open and it was my neighbor hang out spot... *sighs*
